Luxembourg is like a fairy tale. Enchanting forests, mist-shrouded castles and ancient fortresses make up this tiny country. In the north you can ski and the landscape is dotted with magnificent waterfalls and towering castles. The south has a history of wine-making and you can reach any part of the Luxembourg from the capital, Luxembourg City, in less than an hour.

Luxembourg by train

Luxembourg has one main rail route with a few lines that branch off it. The trains (and buses) are operated by Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL). Since May 1999, the Luxembourg Railways run to the ‘Horaire Cadencé’ schedule, meaning that there is at least one train every hour to every station between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
