Norway by train

The Norwegian State Railways (NSB) operates the major railway lines. The network runs as far north as Bødo, 100 kilometres (62 miles) north of the Arctic Circle. Express trains called ‘Signatur-tog’ crisscross the mountainous terrain between Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim. These are quicker than trains labeled ‘Expresstog’. The 7-hour trip between Oslo and Bergen is one of the most scenic of Europe.
